DF7DQ in Vietnam

In 2017 my wife was looking for a holiday destination in Asia. I was letting her looking for. When she ask me, „…what do you think about Vietnam, nice beaches and friendly people?“ Well, I like beaches and friendly people, but was thinking in something else, Amateur Radio, what I like as well.
„That’s OK, I don’t mind…“ and was starting to gather information about the license, contacted XV2A and few weeks later got the callsign 3W9DQ (the „9“ is staying for foreigners).
Fortunately I got the permission to put up an antenna in the holiday resort; that is not self-evident. Unfortunately, I had to fight with very heavy man made electronic noise (LEDs, power supply…) on all bands. There seems to be no control about radio frequency contamination.
Finally, at the end of holiday I counted 750 QSOs in the log, most of it with Japan.
